Careers
A digital agency with real staying power.
Since 2011, we've grown carefully and hired the same way. The people here work on projects they care about, at a pace that holds up, alongside teammates who are in it for the long run.
At Materiell
Real variety, real ownership, and real exposure to the parts of the business most people never see.
No two projects look the same. One week you might be building a platform for a federal agency, the next you're redesigning a site for a local business. You'll work across content platforms like Payload, WordPress, and Craft, and write in languages like PHP, Node.js, and TypeScript. Front ends are built with React and Next.js, design happens in Figma and Adobe, and you'll pick the right tool for the project instead of defaulting to the familiar one. Because we host and look after most of what we build, you'll stay close to the work long after launch and see how real people use it. The team is small enough that you'll work directly with clients, trade ideas across disciplines, and find yourself learning things well outside your title.
The People
A team with no layers, a sustainable pace, and people who've chosen to stay.
You'll work directly with clients, directly with your teammates, and have real ownership of what you produce. That kind of setup only works when the people in it trust each other, which is why we look for curiosity, honesty, and care above almost everything else. Curiosity because the best work starts with understanding the problem. Honesty because real collaboration falls apart without it. Care because the details matter, and so does the way we treat each other.
Some of us have been working together for more than a decade, and that kind of history shapes how we show up for each other. We cover each other when life gets in the way, celebrate the wins that matter outside of work, and give each other the space to be people first. That's how you end up with a team that includes a former professional alpine skier, a creative director who plans every trip around food, and a founder who will never stop rooting for the 49ers. Different people, same standards. Do the work well, take care of the client, take care of each other.
Open Roles
We don't always have a role posted, but we're always open to meeting the right person.
If you're a designer, developer, or project manager who cares about the work, introduce yourself. Tell us who you are, what you're working on, and what you're hoping to find in your next role. Our team works from all over, so location isn't a barrier. When the right fit comes along, we'd rather already know you than start from scratch.
